Xbox leading boss Phil Spencer claims that the impending Windows 10 could be the, “best operating system we've ever created for gamers on PC.” Spencer talked up the system on the Xbox Wire, stating that he is eager to show off “the great work that we're doing” when it comes to Windows 10 and PC gaming.

Spencer said:
“For the Xbox team, this is the beginning of our discussion with fans about
the work that we're doing to bring gaming to the Windows 10 operating
system. It's really nice to finally get to be able to talk about this. We'll
continue the conversation throughout the year."
Even though Microsoft is focusing much of its attention on PC gaming, consumers won’t have to worry about the welfare of Xbox One or any of the other console projects in the works.

Spencer went on to say:
"We remain committed to gaming on console, but we know that we have
fans and gamers that also play on PC and phone. And it's important that
we build out the features that we have, learning from what we've done on
console, and helping make Windows 10 the best operating system we've
ever created for gamers on PCs."
The Windows 10 event, titled The Next Chapter, will occur on January 21. It will be held at Microsoft’s headquarters in Redmond, Washington. The event will also be live streamed at 9 AM PDT (noon EST). The company has not disclosed what its agenda is for the event, but possible options include the rumored Cortana integration, the new Xbox app, or the new Spartan browser.

Windows 10 should be available for all consumers by the end of 2015.
