Epic Adds Unreal Engine 4.1 Support to Xbox One and Playstation 4

By Jake Doolin

The newest update to Epic's Unreal Engine is offering full support to the current generation of consoles. The 4.1 update has been validated by both Sony and Microsoft and is available to subscribers that are registered with the companies.

Epic is also working on support for Linux as well. While the update hasn't been completed for Linux yet, developers can deploy games on it along with SteamOS.

All of this is covered in Epic's new subscription service for the Unreal Engine, which runs for $19 a month along with five percent of your games' gross. This service gives subscribers complete access to source code of Unreal Engine 4.1.
