According to a post made on the PlayStation Network forums, the online service will be down for network maintenance on Monday, August 25. The outage is expected to last from 9:40 am to 4:50 pm PST (12:40 pm to 7:50 pm EST). The purpose of the outage is to "deploy a series of back-end improvements to the network."
During this time, the PlayStation Store, PlayStation Home, and Account Management will not be available. However, users who have logged into the network since August 20 will be able to play games online and access other applications like Netflix.
