Sony announced today that they would be selling a limited edition PS4 console in celebration of the PlayStations 20th anniversary.
This special “Original Grey” PS4 will be limited to 12,300 units, and will retail for €499 (a dollar price has yet to be announced). It will come with a unique DualShock 4 controler and PlayStation Camera, both the the same grey finish. Each console will also have a plaque on the face, with its number out of the 12,300.
For people who already own PlayStation devices, Sony is also releasing a Classic PlayStation theme for the PS3, PS4, and the PS Vita. The theme changes the backgrounds and icons on the home screen, and also changes the systems’ sounds to PS1 style chimes. The PS4 theme also changes the startup sound to the nostalgic PS1 startup sound. The theme is currently available for the NA PlayStation 4.
More information on ordering the limited edition system will be announced on December 6 during this week’s PlayStation Experience.
