Diamond Comic Distributors confirmed today that Free Comic Book Day 2015 would be on May 2, 2015. This year will mark the fourteenth celebration of giving eager readers a free comic or two.
According to a post on the Diamond website, a selection committee has selected 50 comics that appeal to a variety of age ranges. Publishers included will be DC, Marvel, Archie, IDW, Dark Horse, Image, and other publishers.
The list of books being given away will be announced later this month, with the 12 gold books being announced on December 11 and the 38 silver books on December 17. A full list will be released on December 24.
This year's FCBD had a record breaking turnout, with 4.7 million comics being given away to over one million readers. Some of the books given away this year were a Rocket Raccoon preview, Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Megaman X.
