After much negative publicity and the rise of sponsorship costs, Sony had decided to end their 10-year sponsorship with FIFA.
Sony was just one of the major sponsors for FIFA who recently had PlayStation be one of their pitches for the previous two World Cups.
Before Sony withdrew their sponsorship from FIFA their deal was estimated to be around $277 million.
Earlier this month a report of an investigation was being looked at for FIFA for bribery playing a part in the Russian and Qatari World Cup bids for 2018 and 2022.
Even more bad news for FIFA and their organization when they heard that Qatar was to be using slave labor from South Asia and North Korean prisons to build its venues.
The death toll could reach 4,000 just from construction alone and even before the event was to take place.
