A sizable new update has arrived for Destiny, bringing much-needed tweaks and quality-of-life improvements to the game.
The update brings a host of balance changes to many of the exotic weapons in the game, including Thorn, Bad Juju, Plan C, and the Vex Mythoclast, among others. Many of the weapons have received upgrades to make them more powerful.
Bungie has also made changes to exotic gear across the board, eliminating the need for ascendant materials when upgrading exotic weapons and armor. In addition, the final upgrade node can now only be unlocked with a new material called an Exotic Shard, which can be obtained either by breaking down other exotic gear, or purchased from Merchant Xur for seven Strange Coins.
The update also adds new ways to obtain upgrade materials, with bounties now granting materials based on the planet for which they are completed. Upgrade materials can now also be obtained by trading in Vanguard and Crucible Marks, allowing players more avenues to obtain the materials they need to upgrade their gear.
The patch has arrived ahead of the launch of the first expansion for the game, The Dark Below, which will be available on December 9.
