Destiny Update Adds New, Requested Features
by Lucas Miller
Bungie has updated Destiny to version 1.0.3 today with a massive 2.44 GB patch. The update adds a great deal of new changes to the game, from fan-requested features like voice chat in matchmaking to quality of life improvements such as additional bounty slots. Players are reporting that they are being kicked out of gameplay sessions in order to allow the update to download.
Additional improvements to the game include an increase in the number of public event occurrences, additional armor shaders, and the ability to preview shaders and emblems before you buy them.
The update also includes changes to the Iron Banner event, which will go live sometime in the future. Fireteam leaders must now be level 20 in order to compete in the Iron Banner playlist. If you are below level 20, you must join a fireteam led by a level 20 to enter. Additionally, player level is much more important this time around, as players must be within three levels levels of each other in order to remain competitive.
The new update is the first in a series of updates promised by Bungie that will add new features and content to the game in preparation for the launch of the first expansion, The Dark Below, on December 9.
