This June 30 as many as 50 classic EA games, such as Battlefield 2 and Crisis, will lose their online support. We've known for awhile that these games were at risk after news broke of Gamespy's shutdown of their multiplayer servers.
In a post on the company's official site, a representative for EA stated that, "The decisions to retire older EA games are never easy. The development teams and operational staff pour their hearts into these games almost as much as the customers playing them and it is hard to see one retired."
EA has offered some solace to worried players, saying in a new post that they are "still investigating" ways to continue online for the game. The full list of affected games can be found below.
