Sony Online Entertainment's All Access Pass Delayed

By Jake Doolin

Sony Online Entertainment's plan to put all of its games under one monthly fee is being delayed. The service was going to be rolled out sometime at the beginning of the month, but has been pushed back to April 29. The plan would allow players access to Sony Entertainment Online complete library of games. Titles such as PlanetSide 2, EverQuest, EverQuest 2, DC Universe Online, Wizardry Online, and Vanguard: Saga of Heroes will all be included in the new plan on release, along with EverQuest Landmark and EverQuest Next soon after.

On the SOE forum community relations manager Collette Murphy posted the following statement on the delay.

"In an effort to ensure that the transition to the new All Access membership plan is as seamless as possible, we are going to be taking a little more time to test. So, we will be pushing the launch date of All Access to Tuesday, April 29th. Because of the portfolio-wide nature of this plan, this may prevent us from doing any individual game updates in EverQuest, EverQuest II, Planetside 2, and DC Universe Online. These updates will resume normally after the All Access launch. We appreciate your patience and you’ll agree that our new membership offering is worth the wait."

The SOE All Access plan will cost $14.99 and have payment plans for three, six, and 12 month subscriptions.
