Nintendo to Host Super Smash Bros. Tournament at E3, Skip Press Conference

by Joseph Knoop

Nintendo will host a Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS tournament at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo, according to a comedic video made in conjunction with video game comedy team Mega64.

16 invitees will compete in the first-ever Nintendo-sponsored Super Smash Bros. tournament at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. Nintendo has stated that details on the participants, viewing options, and the announcers will be released at a later date.

Nintendo will also be releasing demo units of the game to Best Buy stores nationwide from June 10 to June 12.

Once again, Nintendo will also be skipping an E3 press conference in favor of a live Nintendo Direct event from June 10 9a.m. PT / 12 p.m. PT, with mentions of the company's plans for the future.

The company will also be hosting a live stream, dubbed "Nintendo Treehouse." The webcast will feature content from the Nintendo show floor during all hours of the expo.

At time of writing, the company's site claims more information will be released soon.
