Characters Revealed for New Walking Dead Series

by Scott Minor

Some of the characters for the new AMC show, based off its current show The Walking Dead, have been revealed. The new show will take place in the same world as The Walking Dead, but will feature a new cast of characters never before seen in the show or comic.

Just like in the beginning of both the comic and TV series, the new show will start off with different families coming together. One difference, as of right now, is that there will only be two different families coming together at the beginning.

Both families will be led by a single parent who is trying to protect their children in the zombie apocalypse. One family will be led by a single dad named Sean Cabrera, a Latino man in his early 40s. Sean is seen as a good man who only wants to make everyone in his life happy. Sean will be accompanied by his teenage son Cody Cabrera, a smart but rebellious kid with a history of being angry.

The second family will be led by Nancy Tompkins. Nancy is in her 30s and is a single mother of two. Nancy will be seen as your average girl with something unique about her. Nancy's two children are Nick and Ashley Tompkins. Nick is a teenager who will be seen as someone who is too old to stay at home but too scared to flee. Ashley will be the opposite of Nick. She is an ambitious teenager who is willing to do anything to be safe.

This show will mark the first time Latino characters are a part of the main focus of a Walking Dead story. In both the show and comic Latino characters, like Rosita, have only been supporting characters to the story.

The new show will be written by The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman and Dave Erickson, who was an executive producer for the show Sons of Anarchy. Erickson will also be an executive producer for the new Walking Dead show.
