Gamestop now offering $40 for your Xbox One Kinect

by Joseph Knoop

If you consider yourself unfortunate for adopting the Xbox One console before Microsoft announced its $399.99 Kinect-free version, then a little retail angel has graced you this day.

Gamestop will be accepting customers' Xbox One Kinects, offering $40 in-store credit as incentive to turn the device in. Customers wishing for hard cash will receive $32 cash.

Customers can also trade in the Kinect as part of Gamestop's 30 percent bonus deal on select items, ($52 worth of credit) towards The Master Chief Collection, Sunset Overdrive and Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.

Gamestop will also take the Playstation Camera for PlayStation 4 for $27 in-store credit or $21.60 in cash. If you happen to have an Xbox 360 Kinect lying around, Gamestop is offering $4 in-store credit for those as well.

Microsoft has yet to release a standalone Kinect camera.
