Shelter 2 Announced, Now With Lynx

by Joseph Knoop

Indie developer Might and Delight are once again looking to give gamers a furry, adorably bleak look into survival of the fittest. The newly announced Shelter 2, sequel to "meditative badger adventure" Shelter, will put players in the role of a mother lynx as she births a litter of cubs, forages for food, and defends her home from intruders.

"The beauty of nature goes hand in hand with its unforgiving rawness," said developer Might and Delight on the company's website. "That is central in Shelter 2, and one of the reasons we chose to make a game about a Lynx. They are in middle of the food chain, and there are far more vicious things out on the cold tundra."

The developer's announcement page also says that not only will environments be larger, but there will be a larger variety of actions available compared to the original game such as encouraging your cubs to drink from a river. Thanks to the mother's increased mobility, players can now carry their cubs away from danger.

Shelter 2 will be pouncing onto Steam, Good Old Games, and "other digital platforms" in the fall of 2014.
