Dredd Sequel "Conversations" Are Happening, Says Karl Urban
by Joseph Knoop
Karl Urban, the star of Dredd and co-star of Star Trek Into Darkness, has said that "conversations" about a possible Dredd sequel are happening between the studio, the director, and writer Alex Garland.
The quote comes from Urban's recent comments during a press event at the Destination Star Trek convention in Frankfurt, Germany.
The possibility of a Dredd sequel seemed dim given the poor box office performance of the film both domestically and internationally. Blu-ray and DVD sales, totaling $17 million domestically, resulted in a limited amount of success for Dredd.
I certainly wouldn't mind another Dredd film. Urban fills the roles impeccably, demanding that studio powers allow him to keep the helmet on during all recordings.
