In the wake of the hack of Sony, new emails between Sony's Amy Pascal and a business partner have arisen that indicate Marvel's desire to get Spider-Man in the next Captain America movie, Civil War. In the comic book version of the story, Spider-Man reveals his identity to the world.
Other emails also reveal a potential scenario that would allow Marvel to create a new trilogy of Spider-Man movies while letting Sony keep "creative control, marketing, and distribution" of the franchise.
Unfortunately, these talks fell through and Sony is continuing work on its own Spidey-based plans, one of which includes a new comedy that would be produced by 22 Jump Street and The Lego Movie producers Chris Miller and Phil Lord.
Other plans include spin-offs based on the Sinister Six, Venom and women in the franchise.
