Jesus May Be in the Second Half of this Season's Walking Dead

by Scott Minor

On the latest episode of AMC’s Talking Dead Robert Kirkman, creator of The Walking Dead, said t
the second half of the season will feature a prominent gay character from the comic book.

Paul Monroe, better known as Jesus, is one possible character that could fit this description. Jesus is one of the stories main protagonists and a major part of the Hilltop group.

The introduction of Jesus could also suggest that the group from the TV show will be at the Alexandria safe zone. Alexandria is where some of the group currently live in the comic. The stories surrounding Jesus and Alexandria are some of the most intense stories from the comic series.

Other possible options for the character are Aaron or Eric. They are a gay couple that is responsible for recruiting people to join the Alexandria community.

Whether the gay character Kirkman was talking about is Jesus, Aaron, or Eric all signs point to the group heading to Alexandria in the second half of the season.

This conversation came up on Talking Dead when Kirkman talked about a discussion that took place in the fan mail section of one of the comics where a fan asked about Daryl Dixon potentially being gay. On the show Kirkman said Dixon is not gay but then added that the show is adding a gay character in the second half of the season.

The second half of the fifth season of The Walking Dead will air in February.
