Ralph Baer, the man who is regarded as the father of the video game industry, passed away at the age of 92.
Baer held over 150 patents for his inventions, and created the Maganvox Odyssey, which was the first video game home console. He was born in Germany in 1922 and his family left two months before attacks on Jewish stores and homes. Later on, they moved to America where he would work on many more inventions.
Baer was awarded a National Medal of Technology by President George W. Bush in 2006 for what he did for the industry.
