The Eon Ticket item in the upcoming Pokémon games will now be distributed via StreetPass function.
In Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire the Eon Ticket gives the player the ability to travel to the Southern Island where you can catch the opposite Legendary bird that is native to the version of the game (e.g. Latios can be caught there in Sapphire).
The Eon Ticket will be given to some lucky players to start with. Play! Pokémon League Leaders, in the United States, will also be given codes to share Eon Tickets at close to a thousand Pokémon League locations. More may be handed out at other events.
If not given a code, the new and only other way to get the Eon Ticket is by using the StreetPass function of the 3DS and passing someone with the ticket.
Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire will release Novemeber 21. There is no official date for when Eon Ticket codes will be released.
