A new controller is being developed that uses the rumble feature in a controller to activate a blood collection device, allowing users to donate blood while they play.
The controller is called Blood Sport, and it made its way onto Kickstarter in order to give people a way to donate blood while they have fun playing video games. Though the project has been suspended by Kickstarter, the ultimate goal with the controller is to increase the amount of blood donations in Canada through “blood donation gaming events.”
The controller works by sending an electrical signal that operates a blood collection device in the controller. The controller regulates how much blood is taken from each pull, and is deposited into sterile blood collection bags.
