NBC is Shutting Down G4 For Good

by Andi Tolentino

NBC Universal is finally pulling the plug on the G4 channel. The network’s last day will be November 30, 2014.

G4 was known for the popular program shows X-Play and Attack of the Show before it came to an abrupt stop. The network will not be airing any new shows but instead show reruns of LOST, Ninja Warrior, Heroes and X-Play, with also a random movie here and there.

The removal of the G4 didn’t come as a huge shock to the network since back in 2013 they stopped putting any future investments into G4 when rumored was they were going to be replaced by Esquire.

Since its debut in 2002 G4 became one of the first video gaming institutions to air on television and picking up a huge audience. The network also helped pave the way for many video game news outlets that are out there today.
