Microsoft starts E3 with Call of Duty Advanced Warfare

by Lucas Schmidt

Microsoft kicked off E3 with the upcoming iteration in the Call of Duty series, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. In the live gameplay demo, a squad of soldiers drop into a war-torn modern city and face a horde of swarming drones, use jump packs to drop from enormous heights, and toss auto-targeting grenades to dispose of enemies.

Nothing about the demo though really caught my attention. It's another Call of Duty, plain and simple. The futuristic setting allows for some cool new gadgetry, but if you've never been a fan of the previous ones then I see little reason why you'd be interested in this one. Unless of course you're an enormous Kevin Spacey fan, then you might have a reason to at least check out the single-player campaign.

In addition, all DLC for the game will come to Xbox consoles first.
