PS Vita Update Coming, Includes Theme Support

by Graham Taylor

Version 3.30 for the Playstation Vita goes live tonight, October 1. This updates brings new tweaks and features, most notably, the long awaited addition of theme support.

Vita owners will now be able to customize their systems with themes, just as they would the PS3. These will be available through the PlayStation Store for download. Three basic themes will be available as soon as the update releases. Themes featuring first party games, like Uncharted: Golden Abyss, will also be coming soon.

Another feature included in the update is the ability to check trophy rarities. When using the Trophies application, users will be able to view the percentage of players that have achieved a certain trophy in a certain game, just as they would on the PS4,

The final tweak to the Vita is an update for the Calendar, Messages, and Email applications, Events through Calendar can be sent through Messages and Email, as well as to PSN accounts who are not the user’s friends list.

An update for the PS4 is just around the corner as well, which will also include theme support.
