Nintendo’s First-Party Titles Have Been Strong this Month

By Austin Miller
Since Super Smash Bros. has been released for the 3DS, it has sold 2.8 million copies worldwide, selling 705,000 in the first two days with 135 of those being digital. It has also helped increase 3DS sales by 55 percent.
Wii U sales also increased by 50 percent in August due to the releases of Hyrule Warriors and Mario Kart 8, the latter of which has sold about 1.2 million units total.
It is expected that Nintendo will end the year on a good note with Super Smash Bros for the Wii U and Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire, both of which will release on November 21.
