Indie developer Golden Ruby Games and publisher Ripstone announced that “paranormal platformer” Extreme Exorcism is coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC in 2015. Prior to the announcement, the game had only been confirmed for a PC release.
Extreme Exorcism is defined as a platformer where “all of your actions will come back to haunt you…”
Players will experience the game through the character of MaeBarrons, an “extreme exorcist.” Her weapon selection includes an extremely powerful collection of swoards, guns, grenades, mines, rocket launchers, weaponized boomerangs, lightning spells, and kung-fu moves—a bit different than the conventional exorcism methods of holy water and a Bible.
The game’s catch is that with every one ghost killed, another one materializes, copying the player’s move set. “So tread carefully, or prepare to reap what you sow. The longer you survive, the more extreme the game becomes.”
The features of Extreme Exorcism include a story mode that covers ten areas of a haunted mansion and a boss fight, up to four multiplayer co-ops, a customizable death match mode, online leader boards, and a challenge mode.
