Steam Music Player Released

by Luke Miller

A new feature has come to Steam, allowing users to listen to their own music while playing games.

The Steam Music Player lets you listen to music stored you have stored in your hard drive or your steam soundtrack downloads while you play games. The music player can be accessed through the Steam overlay, and even includes playlist support.

To celebrate the release of the feature, Valve has made the soundtracks  of its most popular games,  the Half-Life 2 and Portal series,  free to download if you own the games.

Those interested in downloading some of the free soundtracks have until October 1 to do so.
