Ryse PC Port Changes Announced
by Chase Streetman
Crytek announced a number of significant changes to their port of Ryse in a blog post earlier this week. These changes include removal of microtransactions, free DLC, and enhanced technical settings.
Players were able to use real world money to purchase in-game currency in the Xbox One version of the game. In-game currency could then be used to purchase various armor packs that constituted the character progression system. Crytek did not explain the decision to remove these microtransactions.
The port will include all four of the DLC map packs at launch for free. These packs each cost $8.99 on the Xbox One version of the game.
Crytek also announced that Ryse will feature the prerequisite customizable settings on PC, allowing changes from resolution to minutiae such as motion blur. The game will be able to handle 4K resolution, which is exciting for such a graphically beautiful game.
Ryse: Son of Rome will release for PC on Oct. 10.
