New Trailer for The Evil Within Released
by Graham Taylor
Tango Gameworks unveiled a new trailer for The Evil Within today at the Tokyo Game Show, which can be seen below.
The trailer opens softly, with Claude Debussy’s classical piece “Clair de Lune” playing, as we see the protagonist stumble down a hallway, apparently running from something. A Japanese narration begins, and other scenes from the game are shown.
The story follows detective Sebastian Castellanos, an experienced detective investigating a mass murder at a mental institutuion, alongside his partners Juli Kidman and Joseph Oda. After witnessing the killing of his police squadron, Sebastian is knocked out.
When he regains his consciousness, he finds himself in a gruesome, nightmarish world of monsters and madness. From there, Sebastian will have to use limited supplies and his wits in order to survive and uncover the mysteries behind the murders.
The Evil Within is being directed by Shinji Mikami, the creative mind behind the Resident Evil franchise and the dubbed “father of survival-horror.” With this game, he hopes to bring the genre back to its roots, with fewer action elements, and more survival elements.
The Evil Within releases on October 14 for the PS3, PS4, PC, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
