Nintendo Announces New 3DS

Big hardware news coming out of Nintendo today, as the the company has unveiled the newest model of their 3DS. Call New 3DS, this new model features a bigger screen, improve battery life, and a new analog pad called a 'C-Stick.'

The New 3DS will come in white, black, and a New 3DS XL model will come in metallic blue and metallic black. The face buttons have also been updated to be more colorful, and strike a resemblance to the old Super NES controller.


The new 'C-Stick' is also based on a older Nintendo control, this time the Gamecube's yellow control stick. Nintendo has said that several upcoming games, including Super Smash Bros and Monster Hunter 4G, will utilize the new controls. 


Minor aesthetically appealing changes have been made, such as moving the power button to the bottom of the console and moving the cartridge slot to the side.


The New 3DS also has improved 3D features a new automatic brightness adjusting feature that help improves battery life. 


The last big change is an added memory slot for Mico SD cards that has been added to the back of the console.


The New 3DS will be out in Japan on October 11 for 16,000 yen (154$) while the 3DS XL will be priced at 18,800 yen (181$).
