Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon has taken to Twitter to announce the newest entry in the series, Mortal Kombat X.

The announcement is paired with a particularly gruesome trailer that shows series regulars Sub-Zero and Scorpion squaring off. The video ends with text saying the game is being made with "next-gen technology" meaning a PS4 and Xbox One release might be in store for the game.
