Resident Evil 7 to be Announced at E3

by Joseph Knoop

Resident Evil 7 is expected to be announced at this year's E3, according to an article in the popular Japanese Economic newspaper Sankei Shimbun.

The article mentions that the game, currently only listed for Playstation 4, is expected to easily reach the 5.6 million sales mark, much like its predecessor.

The game is rumored to be slated for an Xbox One as well, but no confirmation exists as of yet. Japanese news sources have a historical tendency to only mention Sony consoles when discussing upcoming titles.

Resident Evil 6 was met with lukewarm reception, due in no small part to changes in gameplay mechanics meant to broaden the series' fanbase. Though all information still remains a rumor at this point, it still stands to reason that Capcom will continue publishing one of their flagship franchises.
