In an interview with Polygon, the creator of the streaming phenomenon Twitch Plays Pokemon (who chose to remain anonymous) said that the stream will continue until enough viewers drop out.
"I intend on running the stream for as long as it still has an active following," they said.
Earlier this month, TPP succeeded in beating Pokemon Crystal, allowing the trend to move onto Pokemon Emerald. As Crystal streamed, the channel creator set a time limit to complete the game, which players managed to beat.
"I was mostly certain they would have succeeded. If not I could have always delayed Emerald or ran them both simultaneously," they said.
As of now, the stream is currently playing Pokemon Emerald.
