Kinect V2 Near Launch, Says Official Kinect Blog
by Joseph Knoop
The Kinect V2 model is getting "closer and closer" to launch, according to the official Kinect for Windows blog. The latest post details the revised features on the model.
The sensor will more closely resemble the first Kinect model, albeit with "Kinect" written on the top paneling. Gone is the "x" logo, replaced by a typical power icon.
If you thought the obtrusive cord situation was going to be fixed, think again. The Kinect V2 still requires a small plethora of cords to utilize the power supply. The hub will accept three connections: the sensor, power brick, and a USB 3.0 output to PC. The power cables will sap 100-240 volts while plugged in.
The blog claims more updates are soon to come.
