"Flappy Bird" creator saying he will take game off app store

by Nick Dowell

"Flappy Bird" creator Dong Nguyen announced on Twitter today that he will be taking the game off the app store at around noon tomorrow EST. He goes on to say that it isn’t for legal issues, but because he “cannot keep it anymore.”

This update comes only a few days after he went to Twitter to ask people to stop putting so much attention on his games. “Press people are overrating the success of my games,” he said. “It is something I never want. Please give me peace.”

"Flappy Bird” is a simple game on the Apple and Andriod app stores that has players flying a small bird through two sets of pipes (which look very similar to pipes from the Mario series). The game has gained a lot of attention for being both complicated and having no end. Several videos and images, as well as a game, have been posted online to parody the game.
