Since the removal of Flappy Bird from the Apple and Google app stores, several developers have made clones, hoping for the success the original game had. However, it seems that Google and Apple are cracking down on these copies.
Both companies are allegedly blocking submissions of these clones, Apple saying that developers are trying to "leverage a popular app" and Google categorizing them as "spam."
Ken Carpenter, developer of the game Flappy Dragon, confirmed these rejections on Twitter.
This is just not my fucking week: Rejected. "We found your app name attempts to leverage a popular app." Which app? FB doesn't exist!?!?!

He later said that he was rejected twice on Google Play, leading him to rename the app to Derpy Dragon, in a hope of getting approved.
Developer Paul Pridham, who created the Lovecraft-themed FlapThulhu: Flappy Madness, stated that he plans to resubmit the game to avoid being denied by Apple, just because of the similarity to the name Flappy Bird.
